Celebrating 120 years!

This year is a very special year for us. We are the grand old age of 120!
We are incredibly proud of our achievements. We're still a family run independent business based in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne.  Brother and sister team, Tony and Helen, took over the business from their father 20 years ago.  Since then the business has gone from strength to strength. Constantly progressing, seeking our new makers, innovative designs whilst maintaining the quality Davidsons is known for.
Davidsons 1950s
Davidsons came from humble beginnings.  Robert Davidson set up a workshop in an upstairs unit at 66 Grey Street.
Repairing jewellery and silverware for customers of the North East and other local jewellers.  The business was then handed down to his nephew, Stanley.
Stanley Davidson at the helm of the business and in charge of a successful workshop. Davidsons grew and took over the unit at 94 Grey Street where, Allan, Stanley's son, set up the retail jewellery shop.
(L-R: Robert Davidson, Stanley Davidson, Allan Davidson)
Outgrowing the single unit at 96 Grey Street, Allan Davidson expanded the shop into next door and created Davidsons as you see it today.
1998 onwards...
Following the legacy of the past three generations. Helen and Tony took over the business in the late 90s.   Over the past 120 years fashions, trends and technologies have changed.  Our mission at Davidsons is to seek out contemporary creations whilst maintaining the quality of manufacture our name has been built on.  We're proud to still be an independent business, carving our own path and providing our valued customers with jewellery that is as individual as you are.
