Vicenzaoro January 2016 :: Trend Review

Vicenzaoro January 2016 Vicenzaoro January 2016
We’ve started the year with a visit to the annual jewellery trade show in Vicenza, Italy.  As you can imagine we were greeted with style and sophistication… and that was just the show’s attendees!  Vicenzaoro is a huge exhibition for all things jewellery related; from exquisite jewels to packaging and display. One of our main objectives was to look for the up and coming trends for 2016.  Here’s our round up of what to look out for this year…
Pearls from Vicenza

Firstly, we love pearls. Always have, always will. So we were delighted to see these beauties out in force. Stunning pink hues mixed with delicate greys; pearls with mixed gemstones; pearls as additions to earrings…  the designs were endless.  One idea that seems to be everywhere was the addition of the a pearl drop that hung from behind the ear.  Almost like a step on from the double  pearl earring by Dior. This idea wasn’t just exclusive to pearls all kinds of gemstones were used.  A great addition to the classic diamond stud earring.

Pink & Blue
Pink and bluecolour of the year

Pantone announced their colour for 2016 would be two colours this year, the delicate Rose Quartz and the soft blue Serenity.  The jewellery industry has taken these two colours and ran with them!  Gorgeous cabouchons of rose quartz and chalcedony mixed with diamonds or even just by themselves.  You couldn’t fail to miss these two colours popping up everywhere.

Men’s Bracelets

We’re still pleased to see that men’s jewellery and accessories is still going strong and it seems that the boys have gone up a notch in the bling department.  Men are mixing their watches with bracelets of leather, steel and even black diamonds.   We didn’t see a single man at Vicenzaoro without at least one bracelet.  Still the must have accessory for menswear.

From the subtle pale pink and blue to the “smack you in the face” vibrant Turquoise.  Want to make a statement? Turquoise is the stone for you.  Take a classic black dress and a turquoise necklace and you’ll be turning heads for sure.

Statement Rings

Oh how we LOVE rings! The bigger the better was the theme of the show, and we’re not talking about diamonds (for once).  Diamonds were more of an accessory to a show stopping gemstone.  Colour was definitely the name of game this year and we couldn’t be happier.  The cabouchon cut was the most popular.  Even Vicenzaoro’s advertising “lollypop” campaign focused on this style.
